Making headlines... er... first paragraphs...

Well, Reuven got most of the story right--but I never met the EIC before my interview. He must have made that up to make the story "flashier." Those crazy student newspaper reporters!

Hi all, sorry this hasn't been updated in so long (Tim? Andrew?)

Things here have been going well. Sarah Wexler just started her job at Marie Claire (!), so she's now joined the gaggle of EAs in New York. I saw the results of my jeans photoshoot from a few weeks ago. It's a two-page layout with 12 of us editors... everyone's smiling and looking happy... and I'm "that girl." That girll with her arms thrown up over her head like a cheerleader. It's a cute picture but it's one that I fully expect to never live down.

Ricky Gervais was amazing on Friday. There are really no words to describe how hilarious he was and how much my face and stomach hurt (and are still sore) from the event.

Anyway, here are some pics to catch you guys up:

Sarah is petrified of birds, but she managed to hold one of the baby ducks. Baby steps.

This is me with the Wexler matriachy on Mother's Day in New Jersey. Her Uncle Burt also came with us.

Mwah! Magnifique!

Lastly, Sarah showed me this poem today and I think it's beautiful. They have the poet, a former poet laureate, reading it with a cartoon someone created:

Here it is written out:

The Dead

The dead are always looking down on us, they say.
while we are putting on our shoes or making a sandwich,
they are looking down through the glass bottom boats of heaven
as they row themselves slowly through eternity.

They watch the tops of our heads moving below on earth,
and when we lie down in a field or on a couch,
drugged perhaps by the hum of a long afternoon,
they think we are looking back at them,
which makes them lift their oars and fall silent
and wait, like parents, for us to close our eyes.

Love,

Rach

P.S. I'll put pictures from PR up later!

Hil-arious!

Sarah showed this to me and I laughed so hard my laughter became silent and I cried a little.
